History

CYRAX is the musical meeting of creative minds.

The band was founded in 2012 by the 24-aged singer Marco Cantoni. At that time Marco was going to produce a heavy-metal album: he shares his projects with guitarists Antonio Rubuano and Paolo Musazzi. The three guys immediately start writing original music. The songwriting lasts through the winter 2012-2013. During this time the young singer Davide De Stefano significantly contributes to the making of choir elements and additional vocal lines.

In the beginning of 2013 Cesare Ferrari (bass guitar) and Paolo Biocchi (drums) join the group. In March the band enters the studio: the debut album is called Reflections. Among various guests, the keyboardist and sound engineer Larsen Premoli is involved in the recordings. Reflections has been published by the French label Musea in October 2013. Despite the other members' opposition, after the recording sessions Antonio leaves the band. The band is very very grateful to Antonio.

The positive reception that Reflections obtained from the prog-metal followers made the group perceive to be on the right way. However, the continuation of the debut album required a second guitarist and a (permanent) drummer: they will be Filippo Ferrari and Lorenzo Beltrami.

The second studio-work is entitled Pictures and it has been recorded in July 2014 in the same place where the first album was created: RecLab Studios, still equipped with Larsen Premoli and the sound engineer Matteo Bolzoni. Marco Cantoni writes the lyrics; the music is by Paolo Musazzi under the supervision of Marco who also designes all the vocal lines. Pictures was published on 03-31-2015 by Bakerteam. The recording of choirs and strings requires various additional great musicians: their contribution is very precious and the group is especially thankful to each of them.

After publishing Pictures, Cesare and Paolo leave the group.
Since the last months of 2015, Alessandro Mancuso (guitar), Irio Contosta (guitar), Lorenzo Mazzucchetti (bass guitar) and Giuseppe Corcella (keyboards) join Marco and Lorenzo.

Currently the band is performing live shows. See the tour dates!
